Hillary stopped walking the moment she saw Kim approaching her. Or was it Kim?

Certainly, the cat-girl looked exactly like Kim, but there were two major differences. The first being that she had paws, which was not so important as the second. She was carrying a magnificently made sugar doughnut.

Surely, if this was the real Kim, she'd offer the donut, or at least a bite. A fake would eat it latter on explain it was because she hadn't had the chance to actually eat before. Yes, a fake would be a perfect target for the shrink ray she was mentally designing... or was it a rejuvenation ray? It didn't matter, she'd find out when she shot the fake... once she had the ray finished.

This would mean she needed to find a way to contain the fake first, else she'd have to hunt the fake again once her ray was finished. Would her maniacal laugh avoid the fake from running away? No, that was gibberish, only a tight leather suit with chains and rope would be able to contain the fake.

Mmm... Hillary mentally imagined the approaching cat-girl wearing a very tight white leather suit... it would certainly help with her plan to recruit more assistants. Maybe the fake wouldn't mind helping? She shook her head, of course fakes never helped willingly, she'd have to make a mind-control device for that to happen, but then she needed to map the fake's brain to be able to make a control-ray. Which in turn would imply the fake would have to be captured.

So many troubles for just one fake. She'd make sure to make her...

"You want some?" the now verified Kim said as she stretched her donut holding hand. "You've been staring weirdly at it for a while now."

This cat-girl didn't know just how lucky she was. "Sure." Hillary stated as she broke a piece of and bit on it. The sugar was very appreciated, keeping a busy mind working needed sugar. Maybe she'd make an icecream machine? But she'd need bunnies, they'd be the only way to power such a device. "What happened to your hands?" yes, that was also an important question, curiosity as to what sort of force would be able to change just her hands and not her whole body... another mystery she needed to answer.

"Gabriel gave them to me." Kim said with a very happy smile that would probably scared a normal person. Not Hillary, she had already seen many ways she could make her look more frightening, like a pink pony. Those were horrifying. "Don't they look great?"

Look great? Great for what? Could it be those new hands were meant for strangling? Surely their new form would be much more useful for that purpose. Wielding a blunt object or a trigger-weapon also seemed more plausible with these new hands. Yes, they were great. Hillary nodded with a bit of a sense of contempt.

"His powers are great, aren't they?" Kim seemed very giddy indeed, she'd probably mewl if there was any more cat in cat-girl. "He could probably even fix Andrew's and Diana's memories!"

"Really? That could be useful." yes, something that can affect the mind, memories and personality without needing prior investigation of the subject's mind. That would allow Hillary an almost unlimited number of willing test-subjects and assistants. She'd need to investigate this power further. "Where is he right now?"

"When I left he was in his room." Kim said with a brief smile. "Since I seem unable to find the others, we'll head back together."

Hillary nodded in silent agreement. Yes, together would prove faster, Kim knew the way better and was more focused in this task, her feline senses could prove a necessary aid in the unlikely event the cat-girl got lost. Another thing she'd have to make tests on, to see if she'd be able to replicate those acute senses on other test-subjects.

Hillary blinked, and they were already knocking at a certain hotel-room door. Had she lost track of time again? She fumbled through her memories, there were at least two new cures for cancer among the mental blueprints she had stored. Well, that or they were genetic scramblers that would leave any living thing as a pile of mush... she'd have to test that too.

"Come on in." Gabriel's voice called from the other side, it seemed Hillary had also missed part of the conversation.

The moment they crossed the door, Kim let out a gasp, and Hillary watched perplexed at what was happening in front of her.

Gabriel had changed. A lot.

His left arm was very human in basic anatomy and articulation distribution, but it was now covered in a thick gray fur that seemed to gleam like metal, every hair like a spike no more than an inch long that reached even his hand. His left arm was different, covered in thick dark green scales and a gauntlet like hand to finish the deadly look. The head was a strange combination between wolf, hawk and owl. Without ears, covered in white feathers and very large unmoving eyes, but a snout with fangs at its end. The torso was a combination between the prickly fur of one arm and the scales from the other, with a slight reddish tone in color. His neck a thick feathery cover for the throat underneath. His legs now were now entirely those of a duck, with webbing and everything and increased to proportion. And the last change being a long feathery tail that looked like that of a snake, only covered in bright red feathers.

"Cool, right?" Gabriel spoke with a growl of satisfaction and fervor. "I didn't think my pen would let me push myself so far." he joined both hands for a moment, and there was a flash of light. Then, Gabriel was back to normal, a rather interesting pen in his right hand. "As it turns out, I can make the changes work like a program of sorts, put conditions to trigger changes and things like that. But no more than three triggers at a time." the young human was smiling broadly, of course, who wouldn't be when they owned such a marvelous device. "And I haven't even tested half of what I think it's capable of doing!"

"Did you call your parents?" Hillary, yes, this might distract him long enough for her to get her hands on the pen. "It's been almost twelve hours since the Event, surely the word is starting to spread, they'll most likely try contacting you quite soon."

"You've actually said something useful for once." Gabriel stated with a bit of a surprised look. "But what should we tell your parents?" he turned to Kim and Hillary. "Or Andrew's and Diana's for that matter?" he stopped talking as he stared at his pen for a second. "And there's something else I've been wanting to check out, but it would've been impossible to try it on myself."

"You want to see how much you can negate Xanadu's magic?" Hillary was now amused, the theory felt pretty much like trying to use an electric gun to bring down its generator... this ought be amusing. "I was asking myself if it was even possible, we should try it out." she turned towards Kim, broad smile in her face. "Would you like to try it out?"

The cat-girl seemed conflicted for a second, her gaze went from Hillary to Gabriel. "I don't see why not." her words were hesitant, it was clear she felt she should not do this. What would her reasons be to agree? What was that *look* she was giving Gabriel mean? Could it possibly be that she...?

"Okay, please hold still." Gabriel's words broke off the train of thought, attention was shifted and new thoughts emerged. Gabriel was looking just as nervous as Kim. "I haven't found a way for it to not hurt, but I can make it only as painful as being prickled rather than... the other forms of pain I've discovered so far." the tip of his pen was placed on the middle of her chest. "Now please hold still."

"Whatever happens..." Kim grabbed his hands. She was more nervous than before, could it be she had some form of intuition about the trouble that could occur? "...I'll keep my promises." her hands were trembling. "But if by some reason I forget..."

"...I'll make sure you remember." Gabriel replied as his hand began to slowly draw a one single word.

*HUMAN*

There was a loud yelp as a blinding flash of light enveloped Kim.

For a second Hillary wasn't able to see anything from the sheer incapability of her eyes to recover from such contrast in illumination. Something more she'd need to fix once she got a gene-splitter up and running.

"Nya?" the voice was mixed in along with a purr.

Blinking several times, the image that came into view was something seemingly no one had been expecting.

Gabriel was flat on his back, eyes open wide as he could not quite seem to figure out what was going on.

There, laying but-naked on him, was a lithe young woman around her early twenties. Long black silky hair and a slightly tanned skin, her figure rather athletic and lean, with almost no unneeded fat under her taught soft skin.

"Nya." the girl rubbed her head against his chest, her hands tightly wrapped around him, her body wriggling against the human as if it would bring an erotic thrill to do it.

"Interesting." Hillary commented while getting near the couple but not quite touching, making sure to keep a prudential distance. "It seems she's not fully human in body nor mind." true to her words, she could see the black tail as it wriggled behind her, covering her bare ass for moments at a time while it wriggled seemingly happiness. "And it also looks like what you took of cat-girl away from her body was added to her mind. Seems Xanadu won't let go that easily."

"A little help here?" Gabriel commented while he made extra sure his hands would not wander where they would not help his situation. "I can't undo anything with her like this."

"Nor do you need to." Hillary spotted the pen laying just a couple feet away from Gabriel's reach. "I think I'll grab a hold of this..." she raised the pen as it glistered between her fingers. This could be her big chance! "...how about if I give it a twirl?"

"I don't think it's such a good idea." Gabriel was even more nervous now. "Why don't you just hand the pen to me and help me get Kim off?"

"I think I'll give this thing a little test run first." Hillary's smile broadened. This would let her have as many test subjects as she wanted. This would let her begin her tests without having to care for stupid government agents or human right protesters. This could probably even lead her to taking over the world!  "How about if we start by making you forget you ever had this pen to begin with?"

She bent down and stretched her arm so as to point at him with the tip of the pen. And with the same graceful movements she had seen him do it before, she began to write on air...

...only that no words formed.

"Yeah... should've told you about that." Gabriel stated dryly. "The same way I can put changes and conditions into living things, I can do it to objects as well. Among other things, the pen won't work unless it's me who's willingly using it or if I've given permission for someone to use it. Or if I'm giving the permission or using the pen while being under someone else's control."  he winced as Kim began to pull open his sweater, licking and nibbling playfully at his neck. "Okay, fine, if this is how you want it..."

Gabriel's free  unhumped leg wrapped over Kim and he used this to quickly force both of them to roll towards Hillary, knocking her to the ground in the process of leaving Gabriel on top of the cat-girl, with the young human using both his legs to stop her from moving to much, though she still wriggled and mewled with a blush on her face and a smile in her lips.

"Sorry about this." Gabriel gave a flick of his wrist, and the pen was there once more, and with a simple stroke, wrote down three letters.

Once more, there was a flash of light and a pained mewl.

Hillary recovered her sight sooner than the prior time, and felt a bit stunned to find a black cat now sitting on Gabriel's lap, sleeping soundly as if nothing had ever happened.

"One more thing, Hillary." Gabriel turned towards her with a very serious glare that made the scientist shiver. "If you ever try to take advantage of me, or Kim, I swear to God I'll turn you into a lawn gnome." he then focused on Kim, who lay soundly on his crossed legs. "Now to see how far I can fix her brain."

Using the pen yet again, he began to write. *Talking cat, Kyle's mind*

A flash of light, and the cat immediately leaped off of Gabriel's legs and looked around for a long second, as if confused.

"Don't do that again." the cat spoke dryly. "And please return me to my body, I don't like being on all fours so much."

"It seems this is the only form you can have to be fully Kyle." Gabriel looked both worried and serious. "I want to make sure this is what both of you want."

"This crap again?" the cat hissed. "I already told you, I want to stay that way. Though if being fully human makes me into... that, then I'd rather stay half-way through." the cat glared at Gabriel. "I know it messes with my brain a bit, but I like it that way." it pounced at the young human and landed gracefully in front of him. "Now do what you have to do and let's get this over with. I'm starting to feel gay for some reason."

"Not much of a difference there." Hillary commented.

She eyed Gabriel for a moment, perhaps he was more interesting than what she had initially suspected?
This is personally my favorite part, I very much like the way I managed to imprint how the mad-scientist thinks.

This is a 5 part nearly-simultaneus upload, so any comment that should be done will be in part 1.

Next batch will probably come tomorrow or today during the evening.

Very nicely done series. I'm actually looking forward to more. However, I can see them having even more problems than they have yet realized. There can be just as many fans of villains as there are of heroes, after all, so if they were effected by Xanadu's magics.... that could pose huge issues. There's this one series I could fully see as posing a huge issue there, cause one of the villains is so likeable, despite the fact that he seeks to destroy the entire dimension. Doc Scratch from Homestuck. Let alone the trolls being involved, some of which being able to use mind control, let alone the fact that the trolls' culture itself specializes in killing, though being the last of their kind kinda squashed that desire a bit.
