The TGF Writer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tania rushed me all the way through the restaurant, and forced me to sit on a table that seemed almost separated from all the others; as I was seated, I got a chance to see who my "date" was.

For a very long second I stared at the small mouse male anthro that was seated on the other chair, he had short gray hair and a rather cute looking face; he was surely no more than five and a half feet in height, and his eyes were a deep green while his fur a pure white.

He wore a black shirt and pants, and I soon saw a pin on the neck of the shirt that said *TG*; so I immediately guessed he was a girl... inside.

"This is Samantha." Tania introduced. "Samantha, this is Ted." she pointed back at me. "Now enjoy your dinner." and in less than a blink of an eye, she was gone; leaving both of us with a rather strong and awkward silence.

"H...Hello..." Samantha was the first to talk, he seemed extremely shy; and if not for the fur, I would have guessed he was blushing.

I on the other hand, was dumbfounded, I couldn't seem to be able to even talking, my eyes were open as plates and my guess was my jaw would drop from my skull if I wasn't careful enough.

"Oh..." I managed to react, and shook my head, trying to push away any confusing thought. "Look, I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but..."

"No, I understand." he hurried to cut me. "Of course no straight guy would be interested in going out with... a freak." he had begun to stand up, but I grabbed his hand to stop him.

"It's not that, really." I insisted, noticing how Samantha had been at the verge of crying. "It's just that..." I sighed for a moment. "I was actually forced into this whole dating thing." I looked at him for a moment. "I'm always kinda shy, so I'm not good at talking with new people..." I was finding myself with trouble to speak. "That's probably why my friends signed me into this dating service without even asking me."

"So you're interested?" he asked, sitting back down.

"Yes, and no." was my reply, I was finding it hard to talk. "It's not that I don't mind you being a male..." I paused for a bit, and thought my words. "Not that I'm gay nor anything." I hurried to add. "But right now I'm not interested in dating."

"Oh..." he seemed surprised by my reaction. "You don't mind me being male?" he stared at me for a second. "Have you been to this place before?"

"Never." I honestly answered. "But I'm not the kind of guy that judges a book by its cover." I paused, not fully content with how my words had came out.

"Huh." he said, as if amused by my answer. "Then why don't we look at it some other way?" he suggested. "Forget it's a date, and consider it..." he thought for a moment. "Consider it something like talking with a stranger while having dinner?"

"Not really helpful, but I guess I can go with that." I replied; -And with a bit of luck, I can get Tania off my back- I thought. "So, my name's Ted and I work with computers, who're you?"

"I'm Samantha." he replied. "But I guess Sam would be more appropriate for my form." he paused for a second. "I work in the photography industry." he sighed. "As you might have guessed, I chose the random option."

"Me too." I replied. "Well, me and my other three friends did." I stared at my own black half cat-like paw for a moment. "To be honest, this still feels a bit too weird."

"Tell me about it." Samantha sighed. "I've been here for three days, and I'm still not used to this..." he gestured to his form. "Body..."

"It's to be expected." I replied with somewhat of a smile. "I mean, changing genders without actually having thought about it must be tough."

"You sound as if you've talked with people in my situation before." he eyed me with curiosity.

"Not really." I quickly replied. "Though I'm a writer during my free time, so I enjoy finding out how my characters respond to certain situations." I laughed a bit. "And a couple of these situations included changing gender and even species against their will."

"Really?" his face lit up for a moment. "What books have you written?"

"None in fact." I sighed. "As I said, I write as self entertainment." I  shook my head for a moment. "I've never attempted publishing any of what I've written, though you might be able to find most of what I've made around the Internet."

From that point on, Sam and I chatted for a while as we ate; he had came to the park along with a friend who had put her in a similar situation as my own (at least in what respected the dating service); however, she had had two unsuccessful dates before mine, and it seemed there were plenty of people who had been teasing him for being a TG, which had made him think about using the special extra serum.

I suggested the TG group that was named in the flier, and he asked if I could come with him tomorrow; since I didn't have anything better to do than re-beat the arcade's records, I chose to go along.

Once we had finished eating, Sam left and I walked around for a while, I was finding myself without much of an urge to fall asleep, but rather remain awake, most likely because my species had a bit more of nocturnal than I was used to.

Either way, I walked around the forest for a while; despite being already dark there were quite some people outside and wandering about, and taking a closer look, I found out they were mostly species who were nocturnal by nature.

I eventually came to a halt as I reached a large pond; I sat on one of the rocks nearby to watch the glimmering surface, wondering about what to do from this point onwards.

"Well, I did promise to go with Sam to that TG group." I sighed. "Though I seriously doubt I can join." I added; -Not that I want to- I mentally noted.

Pondering on the thought about my talk with Sam, I realized it had been rather pleasant within what I had imagined; -At least I'll be able to take that cougar girl from my back for a while- I tried to imagine how long Sam and I would *go out*, and if the park staff would actually believe I was accepting this whole coupling thing.

I really wasn't interested in having dates; sure I enjoyed talking with someone, but nothing with the views of couple.

After a couple of hours, I began to feel the tiredness kick in, and I began to head back through where I came.

Yet a noise interrupted my train of thoughts.

Curious, I went towards the source, it was some mix of music and loud chatter; I eventually reached a clearing and found a large crowd of people drinking and partying, within moments I found out about the celebrating team winning some tournament; and since I wasn't really interested, I began to head back once more.

"Hey, smart ass." the voice resulted familiar, and I turned around to find myself with mister brown grizzly, though he wasn't with white and black, but a tiger guy that was just as big; a rather intimidating sight if you ask me. "Remember what you did to me this morning?" my nose could tell me clearly both of them were way drunk. "Me and my friend here are going to make you pay!"

I noticed that, even when standing, the guy was wobbling to one side and the other, his *friend* seemed to be in a similar condition; my guess was they were so drunk they thought themselves lords of the land.

"Whatever." I said as I turned around and began walking away. "Enjoy your party."

Yet something happened; I'm not exactly how it happened, but an instant after, my ears picked up a sound that my brain interpreted as danger, my body reacted on its own and I leaped to a side just as the oversized tiger man flew past me.

Even when drunk, that guy was one fast and agile bastard.

I turned to see the bear man aim a drunken punch at me, which was easily dodged, causing him to stumble onto the ground as he lost balance; however, my main concern was the other one.

For a long moment I remained still, looking at both the bear and the tiger; I've had my share of experience with drunk people, and I knew that these ones were not going to stay calm and let me leave just like that.

My body tensed up without me even realizing it, my mind was running with images of rather savage and violent movements I could do to them and them to me; my claws unsheathed as I felt myself ready to take down a rampaging elephant; the hairs on my back stood on end as my tail went completely limp, as the rest of my body was so tense I be anyone could have seen the muscles through the fur; my ears low on my skull as I showed my fangs at them, letting out a low growl while my body was slightly bent forward, ready to leap at any second.

Had anyone seen me at that time, I was sure they'd have peed themselves.

"STOP IT!" shouted a voice which made all three of us turn around towards the source.

It was a young woman, an anthro lioness; with short golden fur almost all over, but deep white on the front of her chest and a puff of brown on the tip of her tail; her hair was deep brown and was almost long enough to go past her shoulders, her figure was somewhat mature, with breasts around a C cup and a bit of a thin waist and broad hips, along with a build that was nothing short from athletic; yet just by looking at her I could feel she was someone who wouldn't doubt to kick anyone's ass three times over; she wore a set of jeans and a shirt.

"Stop right now Edward." she shouted towards one of my two opponents. "What would mom say if she saw you like this?" she glared at the bear. "And you don't want to end up with that nurse again, right?"

"No..." muttered the bear, I was a bit startled to realize they were related; his ears lowered as he relaxed and began to walk away. "C'mon, let's drink somewhere else..." the tiger began to follow him, and I too calmed down.

"I'm sorry if my brother caused you trouble." she turned towards me. "He and his friends tend to get violent when drunk." she paused for a second. "And whatever was given to him to recover his ribs seems to not have worn off just yet."

"Don't worry." I replied. "There was no harm done." I continued; -To me at least- I mentally added.

"My name's Rachel." she introduced herself, stretching out a friendly hand. "Are you a member of the football team by any chance?"

"No, I was just passing by." I said. "My name's Ted by the way."

"You're the one who broke his ribs this morning, aren't you?" she almost stated the words, I realized she was quite pushy.

"Well... yes..." I sighed. "But it was in self defense." I hurried to add.

"So it was you." she smiled. "I was just aiming in the dark for a moment there." she laughed a bit. "And don't worry, I would have given you a medal had I one to give." she continued laughing. "I've never seen my older brother so embarrassed, no one's ever beaten him in such a humiliating way." it took her a while, but she finally managed to stop laughing. "So you wanna drink or something?"

"Sorry, but I was going back to the hotel..." I began to state.

"Nonsense." she pulled me with strength a human could not have used. "Who doesn't wanna drink and party?"

"Me." I whispered as I was dragged onto the party.

Allow me to sketch what happened next with a simple equation.

Me+Alcohol+VeryLoudMusic+ReallySensibleHearing = Trouble+Danger

I'm not used to alcoholic beverages by one bit, so it's really easy for me to get drunk... I'd guess around half a beer to be more precise.

And when I'm drunk, I'm the kind of person who looses all control over my body, I begin to act on impulse; and throughout the entire night, my ears had been ringing because of the loud music; so my strongest impulse was to get mad and turn the music off.

Resulting in me shredding two loudspeakers before about ten bull anthros took me down.

From that point on, I don't really remember much; most of it was shouting, loud noises and the such; along with me struggling and being tied down to something.

After that, the only thing I know is that I fell unconscious.
This is a short story of a series of an OC I've made up, but based it on :iconmalagua: 's Genetic park, somewhere a year after his story.
